TEACHER
Greetings!
My name is Amanda Vidrine Liles. I am looking forward to a wonderful and productive year! I am a proud DeRidder High School graduate (class of 1997). I received my degree in Secondary Education from Northwestern State University in 2005. My husband and I have two daughters, Addison, 9 and Cameron, 7.
The 2019-2020 will be my fourteenth year teaching English at DHS, and I LOVE MY JOB!! Teaching is my true calling: my students have my heart, and my co-workers have my support. I have taught English I,II, III, or IV (or some combination) for twelve years and Library Research for five years. I whole-heartedly believe that the texts we read in English classes are universal. These texts (whether novels, news articles, or essays) all contain some "nugget of truth" that each student can question, analyze, criticize, or embrace. Literature IS a reflection of life. I enjoy helping students find information that they will use to either explore concepts, ideas, or events.
I am always available for assistance. Whether you are looking for an enjoyable book to read during your free time or you need assistance with your computer or Google classroom login, please come see me.
I am certified to teach English, social studies, and library science.
