WHO IS YOUR COUNSELOR?
Mrs. Wingate is a high school graduate from Merryville High School. After high school, she attended McNeese State Univeristy where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Social Studies Education Grades 6-12 with 30 hours in English. Mrs. Wingate began her teaching career in junior high and high school English Language Arts. She did this for three years while earning a Masters of Education in School Counseling. She has been a school counselor for eight years. During that time she has added Educational Leadership to her ceritifcate through an alternate program. Mrs. Wingate is married and has two daughters. Her hobbies are reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family. Her passion lies in helping others succeed.

THE ACT EXAM
Seniors were given their state administered make-up exam on October 6, 2020. This was the make-up from the exam they missed in the spring due to COVID-19.
Juniors will take the state administered exam on March 9, 2021. Seniors who did not take the October 6th exam will be required to take the March 9th exam.
We encourage you to take the exam before March 9, 2021 to better prepare you. You can sign-up at www.act.org . Click “Register” in the top right corner. If you do not have an ACT account, you will have to create one. Students should register for the full ACT (no writing) which costs $55.00. There are fee waivers available for students in the counselors office if you qualify for free or reduced lunch (Students can recieved one fee waiver their junior year and one fee waiver their senior year).

MyACT.org is a tool that allows students to register, schedule, and pay for future ACT tests, explore ACT test prep products, and access and send their scores to colleges and institutions of their choice. MyACT.org also contains free college and career planning tools to help students navigate their next steps and provides insight to their interests and how they align to their future goals.
Accessing Scores in MyACT.org
Once the scoring process is completed, students will receive their scores in the mail, if they provided their correct mailing address during testing. Their scores will also be available in MyACT. Their mailed score report will contain a supplement providing them with information on how to create a MyACT account that will successfully link to their state testing scores, using their uniquely assigned ACT ID number included on their mailed report. We will include a MyACT Quick Start Guide on your ACT State testing webpage, in the Interpretation section. If your students have trouble creating or accessing their scores, or if they created an account without using their ACT ID number, please have the students contact ACT Customer Care at https://www.act.org/
