WHO IS YOUR COUNSELOR?
Mrs. Wingate is a high school graduate from Merryville High School. After high school, she attended McNeese State Univeristy where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Social Studies Education Grades 6-12 with 30 hours in English. Mrs. Wingate began her teaching career in junior high and high school English Language Arts. She did this for three years while earning a Masters of Education in School Counseling. She has been a school counselor for eight years. During that time she has added Educational Leadership to her ceritifcate through an alternate program. Mrs. Wingate is married and has two daughters. Her hobbies are reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family. Her passion lies in helping others succeed.

AP – COVID-19 Update:
The College Board has put out many resources for students. Students will take AP exams at home this year. Please visit the college board for more information by clicking here.
FULL TIME Bearegard Virtual Program – COVID-19 Update:
Full time BVP students are still responsible for meeting deadlines. Nothing has changed for these students since they were already working virutally. Students, please keep in touch with your facilitator, Mrs. Plummer. She can be reached at email@example.com.
FUTURE DUAL ENROLLMENT STUDENTS – This information is for students who plan to take dual enrollment during the 2020-2021 school year.
Sophomores and Juniors who plan to take dual enrollment for the next academic year need to sign up for the ACT. You need an 18 in English and a 19 in Math on the ACT to qualify for dual enrollment through McNeese. Also, you must have a 2.75 GPA. Also, you can use multiple exams to qualify such as ACT, Pre-ACT, or Accuplacer.
Here is the link to sign up for June or July ACT: www.act.org . Click “Register” in the top right corner. If you do not have an ACT account, you will have to create one.
Also, if you have not done so already, you must complete the dual enrollment request form on the McNeese page. Next you must sign it, have your parents sign it, then either scan it or take of picture of it. You will need to forward the completed applicaton to my e-mail address. Also, you must complete the on-line application on the McNeese website. I have included link below to complete both of these steps.
