FRESHMEN ORIENTATION!!!

Please read all of the information below concerning which night your freshman will attend and all required guidelines that they must follow!!! We look forward to seeing your freshmen at DHS!

Freshmen orientation will be held August 3rd and 4th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. for all new incoming full-time DHS freshmen. Students who’s parents have chosen full virtual school will not attend this orientation, but will have a virtual orientation sent to them at a later date.

ONLY incoming freshmen with the last name beginning with A-L will attend on August 3rd.

ONLY incoming freshmen with the last name beginning with M-Z will attend on August 4th.

Students must come on the assigned night per their last name. In an attempt to follow all of the COVID 19 restrictions placed by the LDOE and BPSB, we must keep our head count below a certain amount, and the students have been divided up accordingly. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS!

Also, due to these COVID 19 restrictions placed by the LDOE, there will not be room for any parents, siblings or friends to attend with the student. Students must be dropped off at the bus drop-off zone in the front of the school. They will not be allowed to come in from the rear of the school. When they arrive, they must be wearing a mask, and it will be required that they wear their mask properly for the duration of the orientation. They will go through a temperature check at the bus drop-off before being allowed to attend the orientation. If your child has had fever or had any other signs of illness, please do not bring your child to orientation.

Thank you so much for your help and understanding in these unlikely circumstances that we find ourselves working through. We sincerely look forward to seeing your freshmen and introducing them to DeRidder High School!!
