    DUAL ENROLLMENT

    Applying for Dual Enrollment

    1. Students and parents must make appointments with the counselor to discuss dual enrollment options and course selections. 

    In order to apply to the LSUE Academy in preparation of earning an Associate’s Degree, DHS has minimum requirements that must be met. You must see the counselor for details. 

     

    1. Students and parents must attend the information meeting in the spring with LSUE. 

     

    1. Estimate cost. Parents will be responsible for a portion of the tuition to be paid directly to LSUE. BPSB does not pay for any courses during the summer months.

     

    1. Determine eligibility

    Requirements: 

    1. Pre-ACT scores: 18 English 19 Math
    2. ACT scores: 18 English 19 Math
    3. Minimum 2.5 GPA
    4. Junior or Senior status

     

    1. New DE students should complete the LSUE online dual enrollment application following the steps at this link.

    Returning students will complete a renewal form in the Spring. Those can be found in the counselor’s office. Students do NOT need to reapply for DE if they participated in the program the previous year. 

     

    1. Once admitted, students will receive an Admission notification through email which will include their LSUE username and password. 

     

    1. Complete course registration form and return to the counselor by due date. 

     

    *A list of course descriptions for dual enrollment can be found online in the LSUE course catalog.

    **Students must earn credit for AP Precalculus or Advanced Math BEFORE taking their first college math course at DHS.

     

  • Register to take the National ACT on Saturday using your myACT account. Ordering official ACT score reports is also the only way to obtain official records of ACT scores for colleges. You can do this within your myACT account.

  • Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for TOPS, Grants, and Student Loans. Only accept what you choose to accept once your application has been processed.

  • The Louisiana Office of Student Financial Aid (LOSFA) allows students to create a LOSFA Student Hub account to track their TOPS eligibility.
